Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail

One of the most popular scenic places for Austin Texas hiking, this trail stretches around scenic Lady Bird Lake and is around ten miles long.  It goes around beautiful Lady Bird Lake, and it’s about ten miles long. The site is a popular hiking destination, so expect to see some fellow hikers out and about when you visit. The trail offers some of the best scenic views in Austin of downtown from the Pedestrian Crossing Bridge.

McKinney Falls State Park

There are numerous parks near Austin, and McKinney Falls is located in the southern part of the city. It’s a bit of hidden gem since it’s a smaller and less visited park. It’s still one of the wonderful places to walk around in Austin, being smaller and less-frequented than some of our other options. This park is filled with mini waterfalls that reach their peak of beauty after a strong rain. A 3-mile loop bike trail is also available to enjoy.

Mount Bonnell

One of the most iconic spots in Austin, you shouldn’t leave the city without climbing to the peak. The summit is the highest point in Austin, offering beautiful views of the Austin Texas scenery, especially during the evening.

Walnut Creek Trail

There are two Walnut Creek trails: Southern and Northern. Both are tailored to casual walkers and joggers. The trails pass by some refreshing creek crossings, so bring along a swimsuit for a refreshing dip if the weather allows it.

Shoal Creek Trail

Shoal Creek is the oldest trail on our list today, stretching from 38th Street to Town Lake. The terrain varies from wide, smooth pavement to decomposed granite, so choose your footwear wisely.  The entire trail is shaded by majestic oak trees, with plenty of park areas to take a break in and relax, certainly one of the beautiful places in Austin.

South Congress

While not a traditional trail, this paved street in the  heart of Austin is still a beautiful place for walking in Austin. South Congress is one of Austin’s most iconic streets, offering a variety of coffeeshops and shopping opportunities.
