New Convenient Hop-On Jet Service to Connect Dallas and Austin
The distance between Dallas and Austin is about to grow smaller, with the launch of a new and affordable semi-private jet service. Created by Dallas-based company JSX, the regional carrier will begin offering daily round-trip service between Dallas Love Field and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport on Monday, September 27th.
JSX was founded in 2016, relocating its headquarters in 2018 from Irvine, California to Dallas, Texas. In June of 2020, JSX debuted service from Love Field, featuring flights to Las Vegas and North Carolina as well as Houston and the West Texas golf resort Lajitas. The company hopes to ease the burden for many Texan commuters, who have previously made the tiresome journey by car.
Known as a “hop-on jet service”, JSX allows passengers to arrive a mere 20 minutes before departure, at private terminals that bypass the congestion of crowded lines and security checkpoints. When departing from Love Field in Dallas, travelers can access amenities such as valet parking, Wi-Fi lounges, contactless security procedures and quick baggage retrieval. Jets can accommodate up to 30 passengers, offering “business-class-caliber” seats with spacious legroom, complimentary drinks and snacks, and even cocktails. JSX also has a pet-friendly policy, allowing small dogs and cats to fly free when accompanied by their owners.
The company’s goal is to provide luxury travel options at affordable rates. Additional expansion plans are in place throughout the Lone Star State, in an effort to meet the ever-growing demand for “smarter and safer” air travel options–this as cases of the highly contagious Delta variant continue to rise and many are shying away from more public avenues of air travel. JSX elaborated on their goals for the future in a press release, stating:
“With business travel on the rebound, and leisure travel steadily on the rise, JSX’s entry into the Austin market and increased service between Dallas and Houston caters to those in search of convenient and efficient alternatives that prioritizes today’s most valuable asset: time. Primed for short-haul getaway travel, business, or leisure, travelers who fly JSX can minimize the wasteful dwell time spent navigating huge terminals and waiting for flights, and maximize their time spent with friends, colleagues, and family by checking in just 20 minutes before departure at private terminals away from crowds, lines, and hassle.”
JSX CEO Alex Wilcox chimed in, as well.
“Demand for air travel continues to increase in our home state of Texas, and we are delighted to add Austin to our route map. In addition to our increased flights between Dallas and Houston, our new Austin route will give Texans what they’ve long been asking for: simple, accessible alternatives to packed commercial flights.”
Flights will operate between Dallas and Austin daily, beginning Monday, September 27th, and will run twice a day between private hangars at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, and Dallas Love Field. Fares begin at $129 one-way.
